Jo Beth's Art
Jo Beth's paintings and illustrations are inspired and influenced by angelic connection, nature, animals, fairies , folklore and divine connection .Her aim is to catch an almost childlike view of the world that makes the difference between our everyday experiences being either mundane or magical. Painting since childhood, she was taught from an early age by her grandmother Doris Eastland who was a miniature painter at the Royal Academy of Art in London. She later studied Art & Design in Lewes, East Sussex before following her instincts to paint the Angels that kept showing up on the page. She uses a mixture of mediums including watercolour, gouache, acrylic and ink. She has progressed in her current work to using some digital techniques also, but prefers to do the bulk of work by hand with paint. Inspired by Dr Emoto's work with water, she uses sacred water from sources such as holy wells to paint with and infuses her images with crystals whilst they dry.
